Aqua Pilates Core Strengthening
 

Aqua Pilates this class is based on movement and techniques from Pilates, yoga, and other disciplines to improve core strength and stabilization, balance, agility, and coordination. Most exercises are performed standing or walking in chest-deep water. No swimming skills are needed to participate. Pool noodles (provided) may be used for support. The water is a wonderful medium for performing motions that gently improve alignment, posture, and balance. Core-specific movements focus on abdominal strength, stretching, and toning. Relaxation and rhythmic breathing techniques are incorporated to increase mind/body awareness and reduce stress. This is a very low to non-impact, non-aerobic class suitable for all levels of fitness, including those with balance challenges on land.
